Tracey Locke

Certified GYROTONIC® Instructor
Certified Pilates Instructor

Tracey’s joy of teaching movement began at university where she obtained her degree in Fine Arts. After earning her degree in dance, she moved to Manhattan and spent months auditioning and falling in love with NYC. She landed the position of principal dancer with Battery Dance Company, and while touring and dancing with them, taught dance in NYC public schools and universities around the country.

She also choreographed dance for Off-Broadway productions, took playwriting classes at Ensemble Studio Theatre under the tutelage of Curt Dempster and attended many Broadway shows, when you could buy a “Standing Room Only” ticket for $10.

In order to support her meagre, but much appreciated dance salary, (increasing the opportunity for city shopping) she studied and became certified in Pilates and the American Council on Exercise. (ACE) She began her personal one-on-one private training business and worked with over 50 clients in Manhattan, LA and the Hamptons. All classes were taught in the client’s homes, so she was thrilled to hone her eye in architecture and design. She is in regular contact with many of her clients and takes the teaching philosophy that clients become friends and extended family.

After twelve years of living in Manhattan, she met an Oregonian, who alas, had no interest in living in NYC. They have been married 28 years and have had the privilege of raising many incredible children. Besides her love of being wife and mother, she enjoys various side hustles. She works in her husband’s business, lockemodels.com, writes plays and screenplays, traceyannlocke.com and currently teaches at Pearl Pilates in Lake Oswego—where she is having a blast teaching and running across the street to Lola’s.

She will always see the world from a New Yorker’s point of view, to never stop dreaming or working. They both keep you vital. Oregon has taught her how to slow down and enjoy its incredible natural beauty.
