Annette Herwander

Certified Pilates Instructor
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist RCST®

Annette has studied dance, movement and the body for the last 20 years. Her journey through embodiment began as a dancer, choreographer, Pilates practitioner and a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist RCST®. These practices have bridged the gap between healing and movement, chronic pain and emotional freedom.

In 2008 she became a certified Pilates practitioner through the Kane School of Core Integration in New York City. While professionally dancing she completed continuing education courses including, FAMI (Functional Anatomy for Movement & Injuries) at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Westside Dance Physical Therapy where she was on staff for 3 years, Osteoporosis for Pilates with Rebekah Rotstein, Pre and Post Natal Pilates with Debra Goodman, The Psoas and Scoliosis with Kuan Hui Chew, Scoliosis with Jean Claude West, the Ribs and the Sacrum in motion with Madeline Black. Additionally, she’s studied Iyangar Yoga and Body Mind Centering through Movement Research, Alexander Technique and Feldenkris.

Biodynamic Craniosacral was originally a quest to learn about the inner workings of the nervous system. She learned this powerful modality, un-locking her nervous system in more ways than one. Like most things in life, one thing reflects the other. She draws on on all these experiences to deepen her personal practice and create more space for herself and for her clients. She is fully certified through the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America and upholds the educational requirements and standards. Her training was under Dr Kate Klemer, founder of Divine Structure Biodynamic Craniosacral Training in Northampton, Massachusetts and was an extensive 2 1/2 year training.
